Danish premium audio company Bang & Olufsen has announced its first true wireless luxury sports earphones - the Beoplay E8 Sport.
As a corralled, confined and locked down population, getting outside for a run has been one of the few outdoor activities we’ve been able to do over the last three months. Now, as lockdown eases, many folks will be keeping up their new found enthusiasm for running, and what’s a pavement pounding session without music to motivate?
There’s an eye on design of course but Bang and Olufsen’s renowned audio expertise is part of the Beoplay E8 Sport package too.
Housed in a wireless charging case which is constructed from B&O’s trademark corrosion resistant aluminium as well as rubber and textured silicone, the E8 Sport earphones can hold 7 hours of charge and get up to 3 additional boosts from the case for a total of almost 30 hours total playback time - enough to pack in several marathons if you were so inclined.
Connectivity is covered by Bluetooth 5.1, and aptX and AAC codecs are included for high quality sound reproduction on all iOS and Android devices.
The earphones themselves come with an anodised aluminium ring that identifies the Bang & Olufsen wireless earphone range and incorporate ridged detailing to help aid grip when making adjustments to the positioning in the ear. There are also five removable ear tips and three fins to help get the most secure fit.
Call and track management is enabled by simple finger taps and swipes and Transparency mode can similarly be activated to allow external sounds to be heard more easily.
The Beoplay E8 Sport features IP57 certification which means they are fully protected from dust, sweat and water intrusion down to 1 metre and for up to 30 minutes.
Priced at £300 (€350, $350) the Beoplay E8 Sport will be available from July 9th in Oxygen Blue and Black.
