Bang & Olufsen introduces Beoplay H9 headphones
MSRP: £450.00
Danish audio specialists, Bang & Olufsen have unveiled their flagship Beoplay H9, wireless, noise cancelling headphones which brings improved battery life also now features control using voice assistants.
Sporting an over-ear style, B&O’s Beoplay H9 is the company’s third generation of flagship headphones and employs the company’s many years of acoustic engineering experience to deliver, what Bang & Olufsen describe as, “an authentic and finely tuned acoustic performance.”

Their established Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology enables immersion in music or complete separation from external noise, with a Transparency Mode to quickly let the listener hear their surroundings, and it is joined by several new features.

Amongst these is the addition of a dedicated voice assistant button which will activate Google Assistant enabling voice commands to select music, stay connected or manage the day’s schedule and appointments. This button can also be used to activate the default voice assistant on the connected device, for example, Siri can be used if connected to an iPhone.

NOTE: Google Assistant is only available in certain markets.

The touch interface on the right earcup has new intuitive detailing which improves interaction with the controls, and battery life has been boosted by 7 hours over the previous model to give a total of 25 hours playback using Bluetooth, even when the ANC is turned on.

In addition to the voice control element, the Bang & Olufsen app for Android, iOS and Apple Watch provides the opportunity to adjust tonality and sound staging depending upon what type of activity is being undertaken. Thus, a variety of sound profiles can be selected via the app’s TouchTone feature to suit working out, commuting or listening to podcasts.

Build quality is supported by light-weight materials and the headband comprises a solid but light aluminium frame padded by leather. The memory foam in the ear cups forms to the shape of the listener’s ear and is softened by a covering of lambskin for additional comfort and breathability.

The Beoplay H9 is now available online or at selected retailers for £450 (500 USD, 500 EUR) and comes in a choice of Matte Black or Argilla Bright colours.
