Available in time for Black Friday and the ensuing Festive period, Hisense will release 4K UltraHD TV models which will feature Roku’s OS for the first time in any of their UK TVs.First announced in September at IFA, Hisense has confirmed that its first UK TV models to feature the Roku TV OS will be available in 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch screen sizes.
The Roku smart operating system is popular in the US on Hisense’s televisions and, with their latest models, the company is now bringing features such as the customizable home screen, thousands of streaming channels and advanced functions like universal search and private listening to UK viewers and, in doing so, will offer a premium 4K HDR TV experience at an affordable price.
Hisense continues its 50th anniversary celebrations with the announcement that the Hisense Roku TV models will be available on November 29th at Argos. This date holds a certain amount of significance as it is the Friday that follows Thanksgiving in the US, which has become commonly known as Black Friday and it effectively signifies the start of the Christmas shopping season.
Hisense Roku TV models offer a user friendly experience and are simple to set up and very easy to use. They come with a customisable home screen that combines all entertainment choices in one overview, including streaming channels and traditional inputs such as pay-TV, set-top boxes and games consoles so there are no menus to switch between when choosing content.
For the UK viewers, Hisense Roku TVs include Freeview Play, bringing live TV and on demand content from BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and My5, while the Roku Channel Store allows consumers to choose from 5000+ streaming channels including popular VOD services such as Netflix, Prime Video and NOW TV.
A simple and intuitive remote control enables control of Roku TV models and there’s a free Roku Mobile App for iOS and Android devices which also enables consumers to cast photos and videos to their Roku TV, use voice search and connect headphones for private listening.
Arun Bhatoye, Senior Marketing Manager at Hisense, said: “We are incredibly proud to launch the first Roku TV models in the UK. These new 4K TVs offer stellar picture quality, endless entertainment and an affordable price. We are now just days away from the UK’s first Roku TV models to hit the stands; it’s a very exciting time.”
Bart Bomers, VP EMEA at Roku, added: “We are thrilled to launch Roku TV in Europe, starting with the UK. Roku TV models have been incredibly popular in the U.S. for years.
