Hisense is set to enter the UK TV market with the launch of an accessible 40-inch Ultra HD (UHD) TV, set to retail at £449.
Despite the price, the LTDN40K321UWTSEU (they need work on the product codes) brings with it some state-of-the-art 4K TV picture technology. A 50-inch model (£599)and 55-inch(£699) will also arrive alongside their smaller brother, with all three TVs available this autumn.
The K321 LED Series are able to access 4K content via on board apps like Netflix by using the latest generation 4K and video streaming codecs including HEVC H.265 (High Efficiency Video Coding) and the open source VP9 format.
The UHD trio also feature HDMI 2.0 ports that allows delivery of 4K content through connected equipment and there's USB 3.0 Movie functionality, so users can not only view photos and listen to music on the TV set via USB connected devices but also watch movies in 4k.
Howard Grindrod, Deputy Managing Director, Hisense UK says: “The 4K TV market is becoming increasingly competitive with market analyst GfK predicting sales of UHD TVs to tip one million by the end of 2015. Our new sub £500 40-inch model makes premium UHD TV accessible to everyone without compromising on features or picture quality.”
Later in the year, Hisense will release a new set of 4K Ultra HD smart televisions including a series of curved panels, edge lit models and flagship TVs featuring quantum dot technology.
