The new entry level PM6007 integrated amp and CD6007 compact disc player are aimed at audiophiles and everyday listeners alike and come in towards the more affordable end of the two channel audio spectrum.
Promising new levels of performance and connectivity options, the duo are perfectly matched as a pair and have been finely tuned by Marantz sound masters with over 65 years of Hi-Fi experience to deliver the musical Marantz sound. Moreover, both feature the company’s classic current feedback amplification topology and a reference quality DAC.
The PM6007 Integrated Amplifier
Delivering 45 watts through each of its two channels (8ohm, 20Hz-20kHz), the PM6007 uses a Toroidal power transformer, larger power supply capacitors and carefully selected components throughout.
The Current Feedback Amplifier technology and (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) HDAM-SA3 circuitry provides wide bandwidth and dynamic range to deliver depth of sound and detail and, when combined with the high-current power supply, the PM6007's amplification section maintains a large energy reserve to drive even the most demanding speakers.
The PM6007 offers both analogue and digital inputs for maximum flexibility and includes 5 analogue pairs, one of which is a Moving Magnet phono preamp, along with one coaxial and two optical digital inputs. There’s also a subwoofer output.
A fully shielded AK4490 DAC is capable of up to 192-kHz/24-bit resolution playback so enthusiasts can enjoy high resolution digital content and the overall build standard of the PM6007 encompasses high-quality speaker terminals with A/B switching capability, copper assembly screws and rigid feet to ensure lasting durability.
Additionally, a remote control is included for control of the amplifier.
CD6007 CD Player
The CD6007 improves upon its predecessor by using an enhanced circuit layout and an oversized, low-noise power supply with high-speed, high-current Shottky Barrier Diodes and 120 percent larger capacitors which helps benefit stability and reduce AC noise.
The inclusion of the new, reference-quality AK4490 DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) provides up to 192-kHz/24-bit and DSD 5.6MHz resolution for musical delivery of bass transients, a natural-sounding midrange and extended high frequencies for CD playback. In addition to CD and CD-R/RW discs, WAV, MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC HD, ALAC, AIFF and DSD files are supported via a high resolution audio supporting USB port.
Internally, the CD6007 is driven by Marantz’s proprietary HDAM-SA2 low-level amplifier as the analogue signal moves from the inputs to gold-plated outputs on the rear panel. Extra stability via rigid feet and a double-layered bottom panel eliminate unwanted vibration from reaching the precision mechanism inside the player.
For late night and solo listening sessions, the CD6007, features an internal headphone amplifier with a gain setting to accommodate a wide range of headphones types.
Both units will be available in black or silver-gold from September 7th onwards with the PM6007 integrated amplifier costing £499 / €549 and the CD Player £399 / €449.
