Since the launch of Panasonic's EZ952 and EZ1002 OLED TVs last year, some owners have complained of motion stutter on certain content.
The motion stutter appeared to only affect 50Hz content and even then it was only on specific content, although Eastenders apparently suffered from it quite badly. Although slow to acknowledge the issue, Panasonic did officially confirm they were looking at a fix towards the end of last year. Part of the problem lay in being able replicate the problem in their testing labs in order to establish what was causing it and thus develop a fix. However following months of waiting and after a number of firmware updates appeared through unofficial sources, Panasonic have finally released their official fix.
In an official statement Panasonic said "Panasonic is today pleased to announce that a new version of software, version 0.29, is now available for 2017 OLED models (EZ952 & EZ1002). The new software is designed to improve a variety of performance aspects, specifically related to motion, and is the result of extensive testing and market feedback."
To obtain software version 0.29, EZ952 and EZ1002 owners should follow the instructions on the firmware upgrade page of the Panasonic web site here.
