Polk launches Signa S3 soundbar with built-in Chromecast
SRP: £279.00

The latest version of Polk Audio’s Signa universal TV soundbar and wireless subwoofer system sees an update from S2 to S3 and the addition of built-in Chromecast support.

Leveraging its decades of loudspeaker manufacturing experience, Polk promises that its latest soundbar and wireless sub solution for TV audio will deliver room filling sound from the four performance-tuned drivers housed in its 5.5cm x 90cm frame.

Able to connect to the latest 4K and 8K TVs via its HDMI port, the Signa S3 is able to decode Dolby Digital 5.1 content to help replicate the cinematic experience at home.

The addition of Chromecast for Audio built-in adds streaming capabilities and opens up the ability to play content from Google Play Music, Amazon Music HD, Spotify, Tidal, Roon, Qobuz, and more. Since the S3 is compatible with Google Assistant, playlists can be created and tracks queued with a Google Home device or the Google Home app using just your voice.

Moreover, the Signa S3 can be grouped with other Chromecast enabled devices throughout the home to provide music in any room.

Polk’s patented Voice Adjust Technology is included and enables listeners to augment voice channel levels when watching TV shows, movies and sporting events to help lift the dialogue out from the surrounding music and effects.

The soundbar automatically works with TV remotes from Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Toshiba and Sony (as well as most CEC enabled TVs) to help with ease of operation when adjusting volume. And with the Movie, Music and Night Mode presets, the output of the S3 is optimised to ensure clarity and details, whatever the content type.

Michael McCole, senior product marketing manager for soundbars at Polk Audio. “If you’re in the market for a straightforward, but dramatic boost to your home theatre system, the Signa S3 covers all the bases. It sounds huge, works with virtually any TV and TV brand, decodes Dolby Digital for great virtual surround sound and has Chromecast to easily stream your favorite music into your living room.

Although not part of the Signa range, last year’s Command Bar from the company impressed us enough to warrant our Editor’s Choice Award for Best Soundbar Under £500, so hopefully the Signa S3 will deliver a similar blend of price and performance.

The Signa S3 will cost £279 ($249, €279) and will be available in the UK from 4th June from approved Polk dealers.
