Aiming to expand interest in OLED TV technology in its home territory, Skyworth has announced the S81 Pro TV which packs in some of the latest audio, image and gaming technologies.
Chinese TV company, Skyworth has announced its latest OLED TV model, the S81 Pro at its summer launch programme and it includes interesting technologies, such as Crystal Sound OLED, 4K AI image processing, built in Wi-Fi 6 hardware and the equivalent of a 240Hz refresh rate all of which would be of interest to most TV fans. Unfortunately, even with a market share that puts it in the top 10 global TV manufacturers, Skyworth’s latest looks like it’s just being released on home turf.
Built around a 4K OLED screen, the S81 Pro uses Crystal Motion OLED (CMO) technology to perform frame interpolation which replicates a refresh rate similar to 240Hz. This refresh rate is automatically adapted using HDMI support for VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) thus guaranteeing an optimal frame rate for a smooth gaming experience.
Image quality is ensured by the 4K AI Image Processing Engine which uses facial recognition and scene detection to sharpen, brighten and improve picture quality in real time. Used in conjunction with a professional-level colour calibration technique and the 20-Point White Balance setting, Skyworth quotes a Delta E of 0.98 for the S81 Pro's colour accuracy out of the box.
The S81 Pro is the first Skyworth TV to adopt OLED panels equipped with Crystal Sound OLED (CSO) technology. This produces sound through screen vibrations and means the audio appears to come directly from the on screen image. CSO is coupled with the Dolby Atmos Speaker System (DASS) 2.0.2 to create an immersive audio experience.
As a pioneer of Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), Skyworth has ensured the S81 Pro can act as a hub of connectivity for smart devices using the company’s Swaiot OS ecosystem. Recent partnerships with Midea, JD.com and Huawei Cloud mean Skyworth TVs can be connected to over 20 billion smart home devices, covering over 60 device categories.
Mobile gamers can take advantage of the all-scenario screen mirroring to boost their game experience and with far field mics, Skyworth's TrensAI smart home assistant can respond 24/7 to requests supported by TrensAI Voice Assistant, TrensAI AOD (Always On Display) and TrensAI EYE, a pop-up AI camera.
Available in China from 10th August, the 55-inch and 65-inch models will cost 12,999 Yuan (approx £1,450) and 19,999 Yuan (approx £2,250) respectively.
