Teufel Audio announces Cinebar Lux soundbar

Berlin based Teufel Audio has unveiled the Cinebar Lux which uses sound extension technology and side and upwards pointing drivers to create an immersive 3D aural environment.

Teufel has developed the Cinebar Lux with simplicity in mind, a plug and play device that produces plenty of cinematic sound from its 12 high performance drivers but has the option of adding a wireless subwoofer or rear speakers for expanding the soundscape.

The slim design can be wall mounted or placed on a cabinet and houses 12 drivers powered by nine amplifiers and includes two drivers for the centre channel, four passive bass drivers, and side and vertical issuing drivers to help create a full sound field.

Used in conjunction with the side- and up-firing drivers, Teufel’s Dynamore Ultra and Dynamore 3D sound extension technologies widen the audio both horizontally and vertically to create an enveloping three-dimensional sound that acts on the listener from all directions, according to Teufel. The effect is optional though as Dynamore can be switched on or off using the included remote. Meanwhile, the two 3D-sound-integrated centre speakers ensure optimal dialogue intelligibility.

The Cinebar’s four bass cones are enough to fill most living rooms with bass down to 45Hz without being overwhelming but if that’s not enough, the soundbar can be paired with one of Teufel’s range of compatible wireless subwoofers.

Likewise, the Cinebar can pair wirelessly with the company’s Effekt rear speakers (an extra £360 if bought separately) to provide a full 5.1 surround sound system for an added cinematic audio experience.

Integrating Bluetooth and Spotify Connect along with the company’s own proprietary streaming technology dubbed Raumfeld, the Cinebar Lux can play seamlessly with other Teufel streaming speakers as part of a music setup.

Physical connections include an ARC enabled HDMI 2.0 output for connection to a TV for single cable operation - the port is also CEC compatible to enable operation with the TV remote control. There’s also an HDMI in, optical digital in and line in.

Full control of the soundbar is enabled via the metal finished remote with feedback from the bar’s dimmable dot matrix display on the front panel and the on-screen display on the television. Buttons for more frequent operations such as input switching are located on top of the Cinebar itself.

The Teufel Cinebar Lux is available now in black/white at the price of £719.99 or in a package with Effekt rear speakers for £999.99.
