Sound format from DTS Inc.
DTS is a series of multichannel audio technologies owned by DTS, Inc. DTS:X is an object-based codec that is similar to rival Dolby's counterpart Atmos system. In addition to cinema, it caters to the home cinema market.
Hello!
I had DTS:X enabled on my amp, but the settings got reset and I can't figure out how to re enable this feature:facepalm: Does anybody who owns this amp know how to enable it?
Would appreciate the help very much
The new LG CX has dropped support for DTS:X, but my soundbar supports DTS:X.
If the TV doesn’t support DTS:X and the sound menu is set to passthrough, does that mean that the soundbar will be able to process DTS:X correctly?
Hey all
Not really sure if this is the correct thread to ask these questions in and if it is not, hopefully someone can move it to the right place. Looking for some advice. My tech knowledge and how each system talks to each other is no longer up to date. In fact, it's not even close to being...
Actually, it's been more like 12 years since I bought my current home cinema set up! I have a Pioneer LX 5090 plasma, Arcam AVR250 AV receiver and KEF 3005SE 5.1 speakers. They're old but going strong, and I’ve been really happy with them.
Then a few weeks ago I rediscovered this amazing forum...
High-end home-cinema audio brand, Trinnov has announced that its Altitude32 and Altitude16 processors will receive a free upgrade to DTS:X Pro allowing owners to expand their home theatre audio experience.

I have 4k player which doesn't have DTS:X mentioned anywhere? And I have receiver which supports DTS:X .. Can the player simply pass through the audio stream to the receiver without encoding? How do I make sure it can?
Hi everyone
I'm in the market for a UHD player and want to check something. I want to be able to view and listen to discs that are Dolby Vision/HDR and Dolby Atmos/DTS:X encoded.
Presuming I have a TV that can display Dolby Vision/HDR and an AV receiver that can decode Dolby Atmos/DTS:X and...
I recently bought the LG C9 OLED, the TV is excellent. I know that the C9 has HDMI 2.1 and supports eARC, which, as i believe, supports ATMOS and DTS:X pass-through. I use an Xbox One X as my main media center, including watching 4k Blurays. I am also using the Samsung HW-Q90R soundbar, which...
I have been wondering for a long time why 3D surround systems seem to always advertise height speakers, but seem to always use their lower plane on ear level. Are sounds coming from below harder to locate, similar to bass audio? Or is it simply to create greater backwards compatibility with...
Hi,
Can anyone recommend a soundbar that supports the following:
HDCP 2.2 passthrough on all HDMI inputs
HDR passthrough on all inputs
DTS:X, Dolby True HD, Dolby Atmos
eARC
Preferably no rear speakers but not essential
Is there anything on the market that ticks all the boxes?
Thanks.
Hi all,
I've been looking into replacing my Denon with something of better quality and also really like what I've heard of Dirac room correction.
As my room isn't large at all right now I'm not too bothered about overall output and especially so if there's an option for pre outs to use with a...
Hi, I am aware that the Samsung HWK950 5.1 doesn’t do DTS:X decoding and that there is a newer updated version HWN950 7.1 on the horizon which will do. I am also aware of a lot of vagueness as to whether there will be a firmware upgrade to update the HWK950 to to make it capable. There are some...
Hi,
I have a Denon AVR-X3300W connected to my PC (which is pretty old and running Win 7 64-bit).
I would like to know how to ensure I get Atmos / DTS:X to the receiver 5.1 + 2 ceiling speakers.
1) How can I tell if a pc video file is correctly encoded? Most of mine are simply labled DTS and...
Hi,
I'm confuse about this new technology that Yamaha is presenting with their new YAS-207 soundbar. It has the DTS Virtual:X and some websites claims that it is capable to virtualize/emulate/replicate the Dolby Atmos technology.
Websites claiming that it is capable:
Yamaha YAS-207 is the...

Hi all
I'm looking for some budget in-ceiling speakers, which will be for Dolby Atmos / DTS:X. Which would you recommend? I'm going to end up with a 5.1.4 setup and I've already laid the cable for the four ceiling speakers. My budget is about £75 - £100 a speaker.
Thanks!
