Hi all, like most people I've been looking for interesting things to do to fight boredom.. so I've got back into gaming again. Bought myself an Oculus Quest and a GTX 1080 card. All running great but my i5 4690k is starting to show its age now and is a bit underpowered for the gtx 1080.
I've been looking at upgrading to maybe 8600k or 9600k which would obviously require a new motherboard and ram as well.
I've always had Intel stuff but happy to go Ryzen but I'm clueless about it these days!
Can anyone offer some good advice for cpu upgrades that will get the best out of the 1080 without breaking the bank? I don't need anything too crazy, just enough grunt to run VR racing sims at a solid 72fps etc.
Thanks!
