I have a revised and expanded star trek encyclopedia which is still in the cellophane which I am taking to a convention next month to be signed by William Shatner and Kate Mulgrew.
I am torn between getting the cellophane signed or opening to get signed.
The book is currently much more valuable as new
Any advise appreciated

In my experience over time the signatures on the cellophane will most likely rub off.

I would suggest if you do get the cellophane signed you get it home & sealed in a Perspex case ASAP to make sure nothing rubs against it.

It would be better to unwrap & have then sign the dust jacket or inside on the front page.

Also when you have it signed be sure to get pictures done with them holding the book
If you ever want to sell it proves that it was signed with you in person, rather than just one bought from a shop pre-signed or a potential forgery
