I actually sort of enjoyed this despite my reservations / expectations

thinking about it I have enjoyed one or two Butler films lately - hunter killer was OK

I am worrying myself here - no I am ok the only Butler film I own is 300

Nolte definitely gave this heart and stole the funnies.
I can't forgive Banning for crashing the truck due to not looking where he was going - with not a screaming kid in the back in sight. Tsk.
Leah Banning must've winced upon seeing her future in the shape of Clay.
Danny (s*** eating) Huston's smile is dialing things in big time. He was for more worrisome in Magic City.
Worth a spin if craving an action flick.
Be giving 6 Underground bytes later...

this is better than 6 underground and probably for 20% of that ones budget

still I quite enjoyed 6 underground as well

according to Wikipedia the budget for angel has fallen was $40m

The Hollywood and the radical left obsession with the commie socialist Obama is the reason I stopped supporting them . We had enough of Obama for 8 long yrs .

I'm in a quandary now Mark Kermode recommended this on Breakfast today and he did not like the first two so sound like I don't like it

Don’t believe any clap trap (sorry cas ) about this. It’s pure, fresh out of the nappy, poo.
Butler looks way outta shape, the effects are crapper, the plotting lumpier, the script cornier. Nolte is clearly insane which makes his 15 minutes of screen time amusing, but really it’s hundreds & thousands sprinkled on a plate of vomit.

To be honest, that's how I felt about 6 Underground, and that didn't even have Nolte. I'd happily take another trilogy of 'Fallen' Butler actioners at the cinema over having to sit through a SEVEN Underground at home.

I’ve not seen that yet, so I couldn’t compare.

Another good review; thanks Cas!

Just finished watching this (streamed, not disc) and I think our standards must be slipping because we've now enjoyed all 3 of the films in the series. A few dodgy effects aside (some of the helicopters, smoke backgrounds - no spoilers there as you all know the constituent parts of these movies) it was pretty enjoyable with brain switched off, and 2 hours flew by.

It was also better and more "plausible" (I almost hesitate to controversially (?) add) than Hobbs & Shaw amongst the recent batch of nonsense actioners... That'll probably provoke a response, but it's our subjective opinion... :D

Might have to pick this up on 4K when it's cheap.

Yeah I just watched this and thought it was far, far better than #2, which I thought was pretty crass in places. They made an effort to branch the story out and it was pretty exciting throughout for me!

Agree on some of the effects - for the most part They were decent but a couple of smoke effects were very poor. I seem to recall this series having a few whiffy CGI moments involving helicopters.

Actioner by numbers...this played out exactly as expected hence why I’d give this a 4 at best. Started ok but the longer it went on the more I lost interest.

The only surprise was the drone scene - not saying more to give spoilers - but I have to admit that it was great though!

Would love to know what the effects budget was on this o_O

No wonder Europe is so screwed up .

Enjoyed it ,better than the last outing but for what it was that had its moments . Great PQ and soundstage and in keeping with the trilogy some really dodgy GGI :smashin: .
