Will there be a official forum campaign to stop Ewan McGregor attempting any accent?

Why doesn't Ewan Mcgregor just use his Scottish accent?? You know someone from Scotland can by chance live in the USA.

Flicking through the channels at the weekend and I caught a few minutes of the 'The Island'. Just get ready to cringe when he speaks is all I can say.

Funnily enough, I think The Island is an example of a US film where Mcgregor actually does use his native accent at one point.

Do I dare watch it to find out..................... My memory from the first and only time I have seen the film through just isn't that good.

Funny enough I watched Trainspotting 2 this week. Which OK the story could be better but it is a reasonable film. A relatively recent sequel that worked.

@Casimir Harlow your review of Mr Robot season 4 has pushed me back to the series. After a little while to get my head back into what was going on, I'm midway through season 3 (which has some incredible episodes already). Going to push on through to season 4 straight after 3 to keep the momentum. Really great series.

Industrial Design is personal opinion, apart from when form is practical which can be demonstrated.

These Philips OLED TV’s with the B&W soundbar look ugly to me.
The Speaker is detached and not the same width.

A better design would have been where the TV and Speakers are a single piece.

Just look at what Bang & Olufsen or Loewe have designed.

When it looks so ugly better off getting Senn Ambeo Bar £2,200 and 65inch OLED for £2,300.

good to see better sound in TV’s, but a massive compromise on design. Should have been designed in a more integrated way.

Not just subjective opinion, but there are very good technical design points to having the speakers decoupled from the TV chassis.
I disagree with your assumption that having the TV and speakers in one box is the best design. It might be pleasing to your eye, but I bet it doesn't sound very good when pushed due to resonance issues. And to get around those issues you then compromise the design.
As you say, the design is personal preference.
Sadly, Loewe are no more...

@Phil Hinton Mr Hinton, please expand the index (running order) to include:

"00:40:03 - Phil reviews the JVC projector". Unfortunately having listened to the 6 1/2 minute segment twice, I'm not entirely clear about the projector's model number (it's not the 7900, but it is N7, NX9 ..? 0t wasn't given at the start of the segment), which should also be inserted. The JVC projector will be feeling unloved at not getting a mention in the index, especially as you've had it for quite some time ....

Talking of fifth gear.......................................

Was it shenanigans to put the fellow podcaster's off it with last weeks episode????????

who would have thought a Fiesta ST was so much faster around a short track than a Escort Cosworth

I love old fast cars but there's no arguing that compared to modern stuff, even things we thought were fast are nowhere. Of course, the counter to this is that the sensation of speed is something else again.

New hyper hatches come with more power than an 80s supercar. Big difference is also modern tyres, a lot more contact patch to get the power down.

Add better brakes, suspension and some of the electronics that muster the power too. I remember driving a Mk2 Astra GTE years ago that was properly hairy putting 150bhp down through the front wheels. My current car deposits 197 and it's completely uneventful.

Mine does 451 through the rear wheels and in anything but bone dry conditions it's an event!

Yes but Ed can now go down the pub and say his 1.5 litre is faster than a Escort Cosworth round a short track by 3.5 seconds.

I think it was Ed with the Fiesta ST, sounds right with 197?

On reflection, I think driving at speed a few decades ago was more of an experience and certainly more scary in cases due to the lack of technology. Cadence braking was an art I learned very quickly after ending up in a couple of ditches.

Great podcast again gents and can't wait for the OLED comparison tests in view of a number of manufacturers upping their game at last.

Mine is the previous model ST. Still nippy but I believe the new one is quicker, particularly with the performance pack that the one in the clip has fitted.

VW 4motion 310bhp and 0-60 in 4.5secs stock, what’s not to like?
