I've started this thread to discuss the best movies you can own on the Ultra HD Blu-ray Format.

Everyone can post their opinion in their thread about what movies really look good on this format and standout from one another.

I've just started Collecting 4k Ultra-HD Blu-rays i now own the Christopher Nolan 4k collection, The transformers Collection 4k and Mad Max Fury Road, Deadpool 2 and San Andreas on the format.

i personally think that especially the movies of christopher nolan look the best in the format, especially movies like dunkirk, The dark Knight Trilogy and interstellar.

I would like to hear your opinions you can post all of them in this thread.

Dredd - watched tonight and it’s glorious

I just received the Columbia Classics collection, watched 15 mins of Lawrence of Arabia, looks fantastic

Favs have been:

Bladerunner 2049
Gladiator
Dunkirk
Mission Impossible boxset
Widows
Any BBC doc (planet earth 2 / frozen planet 2)
life of pi
The Martian
Casino
The shining
Apocalypse now

Im not one for clinical grainless films, if it is, happy days, but intend to prefer watching the older films restored to 4/8K.

Oh its brilliant but probably not one to show off 4K with!

If your not a fan of film grain your right but I thought it looked spectacular and the sound is probably about the best there is if you have Atmos

There have been several over the years.
A quick selection:-

I particularly like the last one ;)

Do you mean movies 4K looking best in HDR10+ DolbyVision, or best movies you would like to, or best hardware for watching 4k movies? Best 4k movies looks best in DolbyVision, but was shooted in 4K and not upscaled from 2K to 4K. But which one that? We know just titles, but you never know, what are you buying. Yes, 4K screens looks great.

Try ebay, that's where I got my copy from. They're US releases as it's never been released in the UK as a UHD but are region free, so will play fine.

As for the best looking UHD's I own, the usual.

The Revenant
Black Hawk down
Pacific Rim
Saving Private Ryan
1917
Apocalypse Now
Jaws
War Of The Worlds
Mad Max: Fury Road
Sicario and Sicario 2
Blade Runner

Just seeing this thread and wanted to say for the first time saw Spartacus in 4K HDR.
Glories transfer but without distracting HDR effects. It was one of my fav classic and this version gave a new life to the classic film. I think all those old masters should be seen in their glory again to appreciate them, especially if the transfers are great.

For me to see it on a larger screen; had 50 inch Plasma, now 65 OLED with UHD player and a new Atmos Soundbar, makes for a new pleasure to re-live those classics in their new look.
