I have had data cables installed in 3 rooms in my house but the contractor hadn't labelled them up , is there any way I can identify the cables in the 2 rooms with the hub under stairs I cant seem to get them to work.

Are there just two cables one from each room going to the under stairs cupboard ?

How are they terminated ?

when you say they aren’t working what are you connecting ?

I have 3 cables from 3 rooms going into a hub under stairs, when I try to connect to my virgin hub and playstation in bedroom I dont get a signal

I need someway testing which port downstairs matched with one upstairs

Get one of these and you can test the cable at a basic level - IE: that you have the correct cable and that it is wired correctly.

Simple cable continuity tester will do that for you .

just plug in at one end and then move the far end connector between the different cables until it finds a connection

though you'd be getting your contractor to do this really
