CES 2020 News: LG OLED TVs rumoured to be X range - news discussion

Personally, I think it would be a bad move
  • As you wrote, it sounds like a copy of Apple's numbering, and that looks like they don't have any good ideas of their own.
  • Also, as you wrote, people will not know how to pronounce it.
  • Following on from that, it ties them into a numbering system which will get increasingly strange & difficult for people in the subsequent years.
If they were concerned with people thinking the new models were 2010 models (o_O), they should simply go for "20"

LGE announces the ZX-Series in 77" and 88" with HGiG, Dolby-Vision IQ and Alpha Gen 3.

Nice for those with big bucks but looking at those 'improvements' I can't see there been much change for the lower end sets compared to this year. Time to buy a 9 series set I think..

I'm eagerly waiting to see the 48" specs, specifically dimensions. I still have a Panasonic PH9 from late 2006, which with its 2" double bezel is 102+ cm wide by 60+ cm high. Don't really want to go bigger.

@ldoodle What is the screen size of your Panasonic PH9?
