Hi,

I'm moving around TVs in my house and as a consequence I am losing my access to CNBC from the TV in my study. I watch / listen to CNBC during the day on free to air.

I have an old Sky+ box from when we used to have Sky that still has access for free to air including CNBC. I can plug into one of my computer monitors when I want to watch something but the audio on this device is terrible.

However I would like to just listen to the audio channel, while using the monitor as a computer monitor and swap inputs if there is something I want to view.

Does anyone have any simple and cheap ideas / solutions to play the audio channel from the Sky+ box? I don't want to plug it into a DAC and then through my hifi as would be overkill and excessive power usage.

Thanks

Some models of Sky+HD have composite video/audio via 3 RCA phono sockets, later ones dropped these but the audio is always available from the scart socket so you could use a scart to Phono adaptor and feed this to the Aux input on your HiFi.
