Hi all, hoping somebody can advise me please.

I’m in the process of renovating my open plan kitchen lounge and want to install an Atmos sound system but I’m not sure what best arrangement would be to fit the room.

I am having a new false ceiling built so originally was thinking maybe a 5.1.4 set up with 4 ceiling speakers (is this a good idea?) but then I don’t know where the other 2 rear speakers would fit as the sofa will be going into the Bay Area.

I thought maybe in wall speakers but they would be pretty close to the sofa and I would need to make sure they aren’t covered by the curtain or shutters, also the external wall is single brick with 60mm insulated plasterboard so not even sure I have the depth for in wall speakers.

The room is approx 6mx4m with a small kitchen going across the wall on the right of the sofa so I don’t have room for floor standing speakers either side of sofa.
The room is approx 2.6m heigh up to the new false ceiling, the void in the ceiling is approx 20cm.

Any suggestions on reasonable priced speakers and av receivers would also be appreciated, don’t really need a multi zone system system it’s only a 1bed flat although I’ve heard the Sonos Arc soundbar is pretty decent.
Although I’m planning to have a stand-alone Sonos one in the shower room, heigh in the ceiling corner.

Many thanks in advance!!!
