Fedup.. wanting to now upgrade everything lol

How about a temporary thing to last me say 6 to 12 months and I do this...?

sell my front set of Q Acoustics 3010’s on stands
(Already got a buyer)

then buy a better set of bookshelf speakers to make do... anything will be better than these 3010’s... maybe a bigger bass driver ?

maybe a set of MA Bronze 2’s?

thoughts?

There's a few pairs of MA silvers in the classifieds. Not sure if they're in budget or not.

Your going round on circles why buy standmount get those kef reference hi end speakers £200 get matching center model 200. Buy a better av amp to cope with 4ohm speakers. Better sub.

Took a few pics of my DENON settings that are what it set it to through Audyssey

thoughts on all this?

Center crossover looks too low, and I'd change the scale. I believe the Denon's have a scale that's -x to 0 (I don't know what x is, probably something like 60)

Yeah center too low increase it.

40hz only if you have a mega center speaker ie kef 204c

Mines a Q Acoustics 3090c

Try 100. Maybe 110.

The settings you see in the pictures is what Audyssey set when I calibrated it ... yet if I go to this screen and select MANUAL, it says these settings are set.. which have I actually got on though lol???🤦‍♂️🤔🤔🤔

You don't want LFE + Main, use LFE only. Adding + Main can result of boomy bass and your speakers aren't that capable for bass anyway.

Can you explain what the difference is mate?
what is LFE and Main?😂

are you saying it’ll sound bigger and better sounding when listening to just music in 2 channel? Why does Audyssey choose all the settings you’ve seen in the pictures when it calibrates? Then you guys are saying change it? Sorry to sound thick😂

Dunno what this is, but my speakers are set to SMALL coz they are

Have a read and watch as it says here it doesn’t matter

LFE + Main sends full bass frequencies to your front speakers as well as the sub. Just set LFE only. Small does not mean the physical size of the speaker, it's means that they cannot reproduce a great range of frequencies. The reasons you set speakers to small, even large floorstanders, is so the sub woofer can handle all the low frequencies under a crossover point.

Specs for my Q Acoustic 3010’s are here below where ya can see frequency ranges

There is no +/-3db figure so that complicates things.
Could be within 3,6 or 10db tolerance

As Gibsy says, LFE+Main means that the AVR doesn't just redirect bass to the subs, it duplicates it and sends it to the subs and the mains. In your case your mains are only capable down to 68Hz, but that's a bottom limit. And as Rccarguy says, we don't now how far from flat they are at that frequency. My guess is far - if it's not far, manufacturers tend to tell you. If they're far from flat at 68Hz then they probably start rolling off at about 105Hz, so you might be better with a crossover at 110Hz.

Did you look at the towers in the classifieds?

I’ve found an EX DEMO pair of Monitor Audio Bronze 6 with warranty from a shop for £475 - worth a buy? In walnut colour 🤣🤦‍♂️

Better than what you have, but you might still need a sub with them?
Can you return them if you don't like them?

Spoke with the guy at the shop, he says I have 14 days to try them and return them... I think the Bronze 6’s will have the oomph I’m looking for and will sound better than the Q Acoustic 3010’s..
will run audysssey setup when I get them on Friday afternoon

Try them out! There is nothing that would put you off as in listening fatigue that´s for sure. It`s more about will they have the oomph you fancy with the cheap Denon. For 2ch listening Bronzes has come top in group tests done blind. One of the best speakers in the price range definitely!

Looking at the golden ear reviews sound stage access is similar to Stereophile so i would put little more weight on these than WhatHifi cause they also measure the speakers. This is what Hans Wetzel said about Bronze 6s.

Conclusion
When speakers costing under $1500/pair do a minimum number of things wrong, they have really achieved something. To my ears, Monitor Audio’s Bronze 6 is near faultless. Its build quality and appearance punch above the asking price, while its exciting, dynamic sound makes every listening experience memorable. Taut, punchy bass, broad soundstaging, a clean, articulate midrange, and remarkably composed sound at high SPLs make the Bronze 6 an easy recommendation. Although it shared time in my system with KEF’s LS50s ($1499.99/pair) and Definitive Technology’s Mythos ST-Ls ($4999.90/pair), it was the Bronze 6es that I most enjoyed listening to during their stay here. This killer loudspeaker is a high-water mark of audio value.

Can’t fault AUDIO T online as just got off the phone to them... nabbed a pair for £473!!
Bargain for Bronze 6’s with a discount code given to me... for that price, wasn’t gonna find anything as good

Did look at the Q Acoustics 3050 and 3050i, I’m sure they are great but too many reports of woolly unlikeable bass and some that were sent from factory that were faulty..

Fingers crossed finally the Bronze 6’s will be what I’m looking for😊 if not, back they go or I could sell them

So... looking back at everyone’s comments

My plan is this...

Pick up Bronze 6’s tomorrow
Come home and set everything up

When asked what speakers I have on the Denon AVR speaker setup menu

I Set the Rear Q Acoustics 3010’s as SMALL still?
but now I have Bronze 6’s as the fronts, change that from SMALL to LARGE?🤔
I rang Monitor Audio this morning and spoke to Chris who works there and he said that he would still leave the new Bronze 6 front 2 speakers on SMALL setting 😳... thought that was a bit odd but surely he knows what he’s talking about, where as I do not 😂🤣

you guys said set the subwoofer mode from LFE+MAIN to LFE only? Even with new Bronze 6’s?

Then I run Audyssey setup?? All done?

Found a pair of Bronze 2’s online as new for £90 with stands!!! Sell my 2 x Q Acoustics 3010’s and buy the Bronze 2’s for the rear? Massive improvement? 🤔

Then later this year, replace the Denon AVR for someat better and then the sub?

Work in progress 👍🏻😊
