Afternoon,

I have a couple of hdmi devices connected to my telly, however as my av pre doesn't have a hdmi input, sound from these is via an optical out from the TV.

I realise there are limitations using optical, however my question is really around whether external hdmi audio extractors out there are worth considering against just using the TV.

Anyone have any experience of using these and can recommend one in which they saw a noticeable improvement on what their TV was doing.

(My TV is a Hisense h43b7500)

Usually tend to be no name brand devices.

It is a digital signal so the audio is interwoven with the video so it should be just a straight extract. At least if the tv does it should be in line with the video processing so not to introduce lip sync issues.
