IWC's Cinema Room

IWC Dopplel,

Just seen your Sig and noticed you now have the Carada masking. What happened to your home made effort?

Ricky

Ricky, Hi the Carada bit is the screen the variable masking is still the same and works superbly. In fact now it's run in it's like silk and takes seconds to get it mm perfect for each film. I ran out of room on my sig had to cut down what's on and the detail ! :smashin:

That's me reading the sig too quick, and missing the comma, between the screen and masking:facepalm: Glad to see it is still going well.

I still have plans to do mine at some point, when I redo the room. I still have all the parts boxed up that I need....:suicide:

It was me putting the comma in after you said :smashin:

Just fitting the new mains system :D

Each unit will have a dedicated spur with 6mm square cabling and Oyaide IEC connectors, dedicated earth and separate board in the cinema room ;)

Part way through the cabling, a tricky job !

Just made some Power leads myself and was surprised (you posted in a thread a while back about this as others did:)) Madness and i thought it was all Bull , but Trying your self always Helps :D Proper shielded leads are the way forward this goes for all leads:)

Question what are them Speaker stands , Home made? Not seen anything like that Before .

The stands are Sonus Faber originals, they look fab (to me anyway) and sound great too ;)

Bet they werent cheap either:cool:

As above How cheap are they :)

I think they were quite expensive new, they fetch over £300 secondhand, they are actually a mate's who doesn't have Fabers at the moment so they are on loan ;) He won't sell them as they are rare and mint :(

yea they look dear and handmade .. next time your mate says stands .. say what stands :rotfl:

A few piccies of racking, ready to install when demoing is finished and if I decide to keep the Naim amps with the six pack neatly racked. The last two show the racks in place at the moment with the P7 still in place.

Are those custom made racks ? they look like something I am after :)

They are the new range from HiFiracks Hi Fi Racks Ltd - Podium Hi Fi Stand

I specced them up with specific heights and they now do a range with a black inlay around the side, I ordered my stand with standard finish spikes, black legs no short feet, just spikes on the base unit. They are very heavy and well made I think they are around the £100 mark for a shelf and legs. I also specced my units up with inlays on all so I can dismantle and reassemble in any configuration.

I leveled the first shelf then built on top keeping everything true. They are very solid as the shelves are 50mm thick

Usefully you can order more legs at £30 a set if you need different heights at a later stage.

The all would look was a little too 'shaker' for my taste.

A few more pics, now the P7 is gone and all Naims racked :smashin:

Well, it certainly looks good!

How does it all sound? More importantly how does it make you feel when you hear it? and finally when will our addiction end?

Thoroughly enjoying it at the moment and getting into music in this room, I'm currently playing with these two new preamplifiers ;)
