what else are you going to be using it for?

Those are quite high spec machines, if you aren't going to be 3D modelling or other high intensity activities, you can get a decent machine for half that price!

Would like it for mid to high level and be somewhat future proof. Don't want to need to be more something new in 3 years time.

Largely things along latest assains creed, gta5, fallout, would ideally be handle the next get to medium or low settings too.

The new laptop I just got was $600.00. from Costco Ryzen 5 3500u processor. Radeon Vega Graphics.

All 3 options are running old-generation CPUs that have recently been replaced with 10th generation CPUs from Intel - these are a reasonably significant upgrade as Intel are having to work harder to compete with AMD's new 4th generation Ryzen 4000 series processors. While the trade off is the now slightly outdated CPU, getting the rest of the spec and in particular the nvidia 2060 graphics might be worth it for a fairly decent saving (the £840 & £940 laptops look the best in that regards).

Personally, I prefer to pay a bit less and then replace it every ~3 years - unless you spend obscene money, given the pace of change (and particularly with the console generation change later this year), most purchases will start to feel a bit outdated after 2-3 years.

Depending on the money situation and the quality of the product. I usally get by with at least 6 years of time before I get a new computer.
