I have my TV connected to AT&T Uverse Cable box via HDMI and also have a Blu-Ray Player Connected via HDMI. I was updating my Picture Settings following the recommendations listed by ConsumerReports.org which are as follows:

Picture Mode: Expert 1
Contrast (Picture): 95
Brightness: 63
Gamma: 2.4
Color: 55
Tint: R3
Sharpness: H = 10, V = 10
Color Temperature: Warm2
Backlight: 95
Aspect Ratio: Just Scan
Miscellaneous: Color Gamut = Standard, Black Level = Low, Real Cinema = On (All remaining settings set to OFF, or 0)

I was able to change all the settings as recommended however REAL CINEMA shows as OFF and the selection is greyed out. It will not let me change. Why?

I contacted LG Support and they were no help. The IM support said to call AT&T and the phone support said he thinks Real Cinema is only an option for Over The Air Channels.

Any insight would be appreciated.

You can only change it when its being fed a 24hz signal, for example watching netflix or sky the tv displays at 60hz but when you watch a bluray its being fed a 24hz signal assuming your player has 1080p24 on.

Hope this helps.
