Hi !

Last week, I received my new Olympus OM-D, or E-M5 body.
As a long-time micro 4/3 user, I was always with Panasonic so far,
but the much praised IBIS in the OM-D made me want to try my vintage MF glass on a stabilized body.

Going through a learning process now (the OM-D seems much more menu-driven than my Panasonics)...

Yesterday, I went for a walk through our village with only my Panasonic AF lenses,
just to be able to concentrate on the settings and adjustments.

Here's a first few pics !

Have to say the M43 camera is a brilliant camera (E-Ll1 and 2) with the kit lens and now ordered the new version of the 40-150 MSC R lens too.

You should but always carry a Monopod!! while using your tripod :lesson:

I have always done that in the "Toon" and sometimes glad I did.

I find Monday or Tuesday nights better..............no so many of them about

Cheers

Cheers Jim,

You know I thought about that as an entry but thought the Coooooooooo through the building was even more out of place!!

I used drop shadow Jim so it looks like its floating mate with the white background...

There are other buildings with these .............not sure what to call them!! Murals maybe..............and look even better.

I have uploaded to Flickr anyway that shot............see what kinda feedback it gets.

Cheers Jim

You should do a set of the murals art Andy - I love them - the Coo is deffo.more obviously out of place but I really like the subtlety of this as well :)

Lovely shots from Edinburgh, Iceman !

I love you bokeh-shot, db !

love 3 and 4 there Raf - especially 3 :)

So there I was half an hour ago, testing the close-up ability of the new Olympus 12-50mm .......

......... and then a little nose appeared.

His test for everything is to see if it's edible  and this time he had his eye on the lens.

These are straight out of the camera although the 3rd image is cropped to get rid of the feet (mine) in the original. They're not great shots but they do tell a familiar story.

This one was taken with an EM-5 and a Lumix 100-300. Handheld with a bit of touching up in NikSoft & Photoshop.

Overall I'm impressed with the EM-5. Iv'e not had much chance to get the EM-5 out in anger yet but it has super build, quiet shutter and nice to handle.

I have no clue why, but I can NEVER see attached images on this site
Can you share them in any other way ?
