Good evening

So after 4 years without a home theatre room I’m back in action.

Our property was a new build so I was able to spec out the kit I wanted along with the sound proofing to avoid excess noise travelling between the party wall.
All kit and movies are hidden away in cupboards built into the wall.

Set up is 7.2.4

I added the isolation plates for the subs last week and that’s really helped to tighten the base. Pics taken prior to there arrival.

All in all I’m really pleased with the results and can say the room is being used a lot!

Kit

PJ - Epson 9400W
Screen - Grandview AT 9ft Tab tension electric
Amp - Denon 6500H
Blu Ray - Panasonic UB820
Amazon Fire Cube
LCR - Artcoustic 6.3 SL
Surrounds - Artcoustic Target SL mini x 4
Atmos - Kef Ci160 x 4
Subs - Monitor Audio Silver x 2
2 x Auralex Subdude isolation plates
Blinds - Future Automation
Starscape ceiling
RTI T2X remote

Any questions feel free to fire away.

Duncan

Hi there

no I didn’t purely because of the timing to get the work done.
However I saw the process, it’s very easy you mark out for the metal rails. Put them up run the cables through the track couple up to the light source and plug in.
the panels are 1m x 1m. I think I have some photos of the track in place if interested?

Very nice/clean setup!!! I'm slowly getting there as well....You just gave me some ideas also!

Unless the camera was way off, I thought your screenshot of Fury Road is very yellowish/mustard, especially his face and the ground. Here's mine from a cheapo Viewsonic and HDFury Vertex2.

Thanks for your feedback. Totally agree the picture looks very over exposed in that photo.
The picture was taken on my iPhone prior to me playing with the calibration.
I’ll have a look for some more recent pictures. I think skin tones are looking pretty good now.
Again thanks for the feedback it’s great to hear thoughts.
Glad I’ve been able to give you some ideas and feel free to ask for more photos if it could help.
Look forward to seeing your build in the future.

Hi,

just asking why you used targets for rears and not diablos? apart from the price lol, im just suprised you were able to get a lot out of them?

thanks,

shaz

Hi Shaz

No issues whatsoever with the Targets, they kick out plenty of sound. I considered the Diablos but the dealer advised the smaller speakers would be plenty.

Cheers

Hi Duncan,

Which dealer did you deal with then I can check my setup lol, as will need to do a calculation,

what reference level did you reach as I know 105 is best lol and did you need any power amps?

I have an Arcam 850 so hoping that will be fine, but may need some guidance lol,

just noticed your subs lol, I take it they were deliberate? do they go well with the artcoustic or would you get something different as I seen the artcoustic subs and they are super pricy!!

Shazard

Subs go well with the setup plenty of base and adjustments.

The Denon has plenty of power for the speakers. No idea how much power it kicks out, but put it this way, I’ve never switched it up anywhere near full!! It’s loud!

I would suggest dropping Artcoustic a line if you’re interested in the kit they sell. They should be able to assist or if you have a dealer close to you go in for a listen.

Cheers

Thanks Duncan, only just discovered your thread. Looks fantastic and hope you are getting lots of use out of it!

Looking into a living room overhaul and thinking about switching my old B&W PV1D/M1 7.1 set up for an Artcoustic package (ideally 7.1/2.4, depending on what my other half is happy to agree with). Found a local CI team who have an Artcoustic demo room so heading there next weekend to have a listen. Do you mind me asking how big your room is? Had been wondering if the target minis would be enough but looks like they would be the right option. Any regrets with a few more months of listening? Will also be upgrading from my old Denon x4000 so good to hear that the 6500/6700 would be enough to drive this. Any reason for the KEFs and not Artcoustic equivalents for the atmos speakers?

Thanks Duncan!

Neil

Absolutely no regrets whatsoever, sound wise it’s great Denon isn’t stretched at all.
Kefs are fantastic for the heights, they’re more than capable.
Room is around 4m wide by 5.2 long.
When you say CI.... where are you based?
Cheers

Thanks!

Very similar size to our room so that helps!

Time to do some sums and demo the kit...

How much do those speakers cost? I went to their website and don't see any prices, which usually means "you can't afford this".
