Hi,

I just received from Amazon a Switch which I need to confirm here with you is new. There is no seal on the main box and all of the components inside (switch unit, docking port, controllers, etc) are in bags that are not taped. Also, I would have expected there to be a film on the screen, but there isn't.

Can anyone confirm the "official" packaging and whether what I have was a returned item?

Thank you in advance for your help...

Yep Nintendo does not seal their products. I remember when I got my Switch Lite it was that way as well. But I think the box had something.

are they saving money on sticky tape now 🤔
really though, how do you tell a returned one from a new one.
will make it easy for some unscrupulous sellers but the main shops should be ok i guess

More likely they don’t want to resell ‘opened box’ items as 2nd hand/refurbished. No tape, they can resell as ‘new’.

Even though not sealed, an opened item is never as nicely packed in the box & the power cable never as nicely folded & tied as when straight out of the factory.
