Nicola Sturgeon gets bit

I think they are after self-determination under the Crown.

Seems fair if Shetland is self-reliant.

If Scotland becomes independent, it will be spending money like there is no tomorrow. Shetland will be a source of income, and they should expect the flow of money to go in Edinburgh’s direction. The deep oil reserves around Shetlands are significant.

Its not really independence from independence as they would leave the UK if it were to happen. In any event, they might find a reworked Scottish constitution more to their liking post Scottish independence. At the moment Westminster hoards powers and money from Scotland that might be spent on the Shetland Isles.

And if Scotland become Independent they can‘t hoard power and money from Westminster. So they'll turn to Shetland.

Go Shetland :clap::clap: :D

If Shetland was to be like the Channel islands I am sure that would suit them just fine.

Even better why doesn't England get rid of Scotland (and Shetland) in the Union as we keep being told by all & sundry that's its a major drain on Westminster money & resources? If England can get away from the shackles of EU then why not Scotland as well?

Your wish might come true with the next referendum.

Apart from the 90 mile border?

Berwick on Tweed is three miles from the boarder, on the England side at the moment and is a small port.
Smugglers anyone?
