Finally bought the above and am happy with the pic quality. However, the componant inputs will NOT accept any input- interlaced or progressive!!!
I have tried different dvd players but all i get is a blue screen for pal and ntsc progresive.

I was starting to think it was a one off, but according to HCC review they had similar problems- although did manage pal progressive.

I phoned philips who told me to use a dvd player with vga out !!!

this seems a huge oversight !!

still waiting for a further response from philips otherwise it is going back- the new tosh looks good

Sounds a bit odd. I've been considering one of these (PF9975) and knew that it couldn't accept an interlaced signal via it's Component Inputs but according to the manual it will accept both PAL and NTSC Progressive and 1080i via Component.

What dvd player are you using?
