Having just upgraded the PC at end of August decided to try watching some blu rays. The CPU is AMD 3700X and GPU is RTX2070 so both should work.
I had powerdvd15 installed and was using external pioneer blu ray drive to play them. PowerDVD loads but when you play the disc it starts to load then the program crashes out with no error. It freezes black window and you need to close the program.

Thinking it might be the software I took the offer for a cheap upgrade to powerDVD19 and tried it. Same issue again. Tried the cyberlink advisor and it crashes out testing blu ray and 3D but runs when trying UHD.

I've tested the USB drive on another PC and it loads then plays blu rays with no issue.

All the GPU drivers are updated to latest, all windows updates are installed and powerDVD has latest patch.
DVD's play with no issue on both the drive and powerDVD.

I thought this should be a simple install then work but it appears it's not the case.

Welcome to PowerDVD it's a bloated mess and has had these sort of problems for many years.
