It is in the middle of the 2019 QLED range, it has nothing to do with price. Actually, the price has changed recently and is now £1499.£1700 is considered mid range nowadays?
I need a second job!
£1700 and no DV, no hdmi 2.1 and bang average peak brightness. Oh and if your quick you could nab a Q9FN or any of the LG 8 series OLEDS for anything up to 700 quid less!
Hmmm...
Not a hard choice imo.
I believe the larger sizes have more zones, but Samsung will not divulge the exact number and I haven't had one in to count myself.Has the 75" got the same 50 local dimming zones or more?
Sorry, I know English is not your first language, but I'm not sure what it is you're asking here.it is better noted that the Sony XG9505, weird !
for my english it is sure that it is not my mother tongue it is seen anyway I use the translation of googleSorry, I know English is not your first language, but I'm not sure what it is you're asking here.
If you are asking if the Samsung Q70R scored 1 mark higher than the Sony XG95, for the same 55-inch screen size and in full-on comparison testing, then yes, that is correct. The Samsung is a better all-round TV with superb Smart TV and OS performance, excellent and accurate SDR images once calibrated and very good HDR. It is also a very good gaming TV for those looking for a stable platform to use. This was worth the mark up on the Sony which has issues with its Android TV system, crashes, wi-fi connection issues, slowness, double the lag time and HDR scope blooming that lights up the entire black bars. It is all explained in both my reviews and evidenced in the videos, where what you see is very close to how things look in person with regards the blooming. There is no brand bias within our reviews and we try to be fair and honest with what we find, so not sure why you would think that is weird. I could obviously have misread what you meant.
I don't think I would go that far. Graphs only tell you some of the story. The fact that errors were in the green/ cyan range is not as severe for onscreen images with actual viewing material as we are less likely to see such errors. It's why projector manufacturers have always pushed the green spectrum as it introduces brightness without any obvious tint to most eyes. Even though the errors here in the graph look high, with actual content viewing it's not as much of a standout and is harder to see for most normal viewers. It should, however, be far better out of the box and this retail set was supplied by Samsung, so kinda blows the golden sample conspiraciesNo matter how good the tv may be, that out of the box picture quality is appalling.
Really comprehensive and thorough review - exactly what you want when considering purchasing a new TV as they don't come cheap nowadays.
Although I don't see anything performance-wise that would make me choose this over a Panasonic FZ802 which at £200 quid cheaper is an absolute steal in my opinion.
And, BTW, what’s the deal on tariffs for EU members on Samsung TVs? It seems to be about 30% higher than in the US.
Here, the non-sale standard retail list price is $1,295.00, and I got a significant discount buying from a large NYC store - well under €1,000.
In my opinion (rightly or wrongly) the range will always be based on price regardless of where it falls in the line up.It is in the middle of the 2019 QLED range, it has nothing to do with price. Actually, the price has changed recently and is now £1499.
As I say quite clearly in the video and review it is up to you what you find important as Samsung does some things really well and is not as good at others.
It doesn't have HDMI 2.1 but again, is that really important as it has all the gaming features and will likely add eARC later this year, so what else do you need right now?
OLED doesn't suit everyone out there and the Q70R is a good choice for gamers. If you can find a Q9FN then, yes, that would be a good choice if you can get one for less.
Yup I’d take the XF90 over the Q70, pocket the five or so hundred quid difference in price and buy a nice uhd Blu-ray player or something with it.Hi, Would you like to know your opinion, a Q70R should be replaced with a SonyXF9005? Is this a good choice? What are the pros and cons? Is there a better alternative in this price range? Thanks in advance
