Hi I'm planning to buy a Marantz slimline AV receiver (I'm looking at a second hand NR 1603) and want to use this in my office. The GTX 1080 in my PC is connected to 3 monitors using DisplayPort, leaving one HDMI connector free on the video card. I'd like to use this to send audio only to the AV receiver.

I also use the PC for gaming, so I'd also want to game audio to go over HDMI to the AV receiver.

Before I spend the money though, I just want to check that this will work, has anyone done anything similar?

Would HDCP be an issue in this setup?

I've read some suggestions that this may work for the video on movies etc, but wouldn't work if I wanted to play music from the PC? That's not a deal breaker as I normally use my Alexa to play music and would also connect that to the receiver.

Thanks

Yes, it works fine, except that you can't select audio only, you have to enable audio and video, but if you set that desktop as a clone, it will just sit there as a dummy desktop and you can ignore it.
