So i have decided to upgrade the TV in the sitting room, as we use this more often than the cinema room :thumbsdow, and have opted for a 65" Sony from Richer Sounds. It comes with the Sony HT-X8500 Soundbar.

I am wondering whether to keep this or sell it and go for the Sonos Beam, as i already have a Sonos one (round the corner in the kitchen) and i'm looking to add a 5 in the dining room (at the other end of the room) next year.

I know there are limitations to the Sonos with regards to formats but is the overall sound going to differ that much? Will the added connectivity make up for it?

This TV will only ever be used with Sky (basically a mix of kids TV , Sky Sports and Sky Atlantic) so the Atmos feature of the Sony soundbar will not really be used.

Thanks in advance.

Yep I would go for the Beam if I was you, you're already in the Sonos ecosystem + it's not like the HT-X8500 has any serious Atmos chops as it doesn't even have upfiring speakers so you're not missing out on much.
