Hi.

I have a pair of Monitor Audio Silver 8s as my main front speakers in a 7.0 (might go 9.0) hometheater system. (No subs til I get a house, apartment atm.)

I was considering placing Monitor Audio Silver 1on top of the 8s to use as atmos/2ndry fronts. With an acoustic pad in between.

Is this a bad idea? Will the 8s affect the 1s alot? I don't play rly loud. The 8s are bi-amped with my Denon AVR-X4400H.

Appreciate your thoughts and ideas :)

I have KEF R50s standing on top of my R300s as they are intended to do so. I don't foresee a problem with mounting any speaker on top for Atmos duties. Ditch the bi-amping. You're just passive bi-amping from the same unit and you're drawing on the same power supply which is taking power away from the other connected speakers. Very little, if any, improvement in audio quality. If more power is need you would be far better employing a power amp to drive the front three. That will reap a far bigger audio benefit.
