I recorded some of my vhs tapes recently through scart onto my dvd recorder.

Unfortunately one of the recordings consisted of 20gb.

( I want the highest recording quality as possible)

Is there a way I put the video on many different dvds?

OR is there special software I could use where I can take the recording from the HDD and convert them to H.264 or something????

Only by "dividing" the video file into separate chunks and recording these onto several DVD's. Use the recorder's editing tools to do this.

There would be no point in doing that.

The act of recording from VHS to DVD recorder has already done an analogue to digital conversion... and it will have done it into the standard MPEG2 format which is the default format required for DVD's.

It must remain in that format if you want the end product to be a DVD.

Further conversions to other formats can only lose you some quality.

The DVD’s you burn using the machine will be in mpeg2 format.

You need to use the inbuilt editor to divide the long file into smaller chunks. You then dub these smaller chunks onto as many DVD’s as you need. Use a mode that does not re-compress the files to fit on disk.
