Question What did you have for dinner?

Fresh local mackerel, Kent samphire, squid and prawn (squid and prawn were not local) bought from a fish mongers and turned into burgers with homemade dressing and locally made dressing and sweet potatoes.

I don't like shellfish (studying environmental science put me off!) but I do like fish and that looks bloody lovely!

I will not post the pictures of the live oysters we are having later then :) and will put my fingers in my ears now.

Back to the burgers and just to add that I added a little Cornish sea salt with a little lemon and didn't blitz all the prawn before adding to the burgers.

Cannot wait to try with other fish now :)

Not exiting but just decided on this on the spur of the moment. Sweet potatoes wrapped in foil and tossed into the BBQ, with sausages and salad.

BBQ. Beef brisket burgers with onions, chicken wings, sausages, baked Mediterranean veg, corn on the cob, potato salad with chorizo and a mixed salad. Bloody delicious.

I'm afraid I'm going to lower the tone here a bit.
But i don't care! As this is something I used to have and love as a child and I've not had one in decades, so today was the day.

A desire for seconds soon manifested itself, hence bowl #2.
Leaving the other half for tomorrow :)

Yes, it's very old-school, and yes, a bit 1980's pudding, but hey it brought back childhood memories, and tasted just as nice as I remembered, so I don't care :)

Tonight’s grub!
