On a SSD do you have it turned on so windows does this? does it defrag or something else at the moment i have it unticked as im not sure what it should be at?

Windows 10 knows it is an ssd, it should say in the media type of the drive, so it doesn't defrag. It should be on by default

Ok, i will turn it back on. So when its turned on what does Windows do to the SSD if it knows its a SSD? Its saying it needs to be optimised is that not defrag?

Thank you:) A nice bit of reading, I turned it back on and as it said it hasn't run for 34 days i clicked on the optimise button.:) I shall now leave it alone and let windows do its job.

So with letting windows sort out the ssd is there any need to install the Samsung Magician software?
