People, what's wrong with their wiring?

My wife is always moaning about how certain jobs are man job like lawn mowing, going up the loft, some really basic DIY yet she gets very irritated when i mention cooking is a womans job :D

You need to retrain her.

I’m just wondering if I should buy this L.P for my Wife...

They've sacked her now, and she was a vice president. Great to see racists taught a lesson

OMG - I'd seen the story and knew that she was fired and that her dog was taken from her.

But I'd assumed that she fired from something less consequential, a restaurant, Walmart etc. something where it would blow over and she'd get another job. But VP of an investment house, she basically screwed up a career.

Cheers,

Nigel

Bear in mind VP might not mean much. I'm a Senior Vice President and I still have to get my own coffee :(

Poor women, they know its a woman's job, but they also know all the top chef's in the world are men.... 😉

I believe in the US, Vice President is a title given to pretty much every office worker, once they have been promoted from ‘ChaI Wallah’!

And globally for US firms.

I doubt this is a one off and wonder what she was like at work.

I've worked with a few US companies and I know what you mean. Mind you, while it is nowhere near as grand as it sounds it is still a pretty senior position. But it can be very misleading, especially in small companies.

I really feel for my missis at the moment. She is struggling with not working.

She only seems to be able to fill her time with bike rides, exercising and sunbathing. She admitted today that she is struggling.... 🤣
Yesterday was my first day off in 8 days and I managed to repair my headphones and spend about an hour listening to music so I actually relaxed, which is a rarity for me.
While Doris was struggling with not working today, she has spent the day laying in the garden sleeping and reading.
I got up early today to get some training in, I've vacuumed the house, cooked lunch, done 3 lots of washing up and laundry, been shopping, taken her car to the car wash, got the dog food from the specialist supplier we use...

Ill be taking the dog for a walk and a play in a bit too..

*** She's actually just got up and made herself a gin and tonic ***
(and left the gin on the side in the kitchen with the measure glass next to it and an empty tonic can there, 3ft from bin. And yep you've guessed it, didn't offer me one! 😂😂😂 She really has lost her marbles).

Annnnnnd another absolute cracker from Doris...

A few days ago I bought an INFLATABLE paddling pool for the kids. Its not massive (run out of space in the garden with the 12ft trampoline, the garden swing and the day bed - none of which I wanted in what I used to call my garden) but its external dimensions are 45.72 cm x 210.8 cm x 132 cm.

Filled it up a couple of days ago and its had plenty of use. Today, Doris decided to empty it out and put clean water in (instead of fishing out the leaves and bugs).
So.. She grabs one end and pull's, lifts and tips a lot of many of gallons of water all over what remains of the lawn and the flower beds, swamping the place.
This wasn't easy for her as it was heavy but as the water emptied out, it became lighter and so she tipped the whole bloody thing in to some rose bushes....

So, once I'd calmed down the youngest, taken all the blame from the missus (I'm indoors working on the laptop) I asked for the packaging and I thought it might come with some sealing of some description or repair kit. She said it had some stuff in it but she threw it away..

I've now gone through 2 bike puncture repair kits and I think I've sealed up all the holes from the rose thorns now....

There is rain expected here Wednesday night/Thursday

Okay, in the balance of fairness I've been ordered asked to put this little tale in this thread by my wife...

I ordered a new TV and a Sonos Playbar recently, both of which we're quite enjoying. However, one major annoyance with the Playbar is that when I'm working in the corner of the living room at my desk (about 20 feet away from the TV) and Doris is watching TV, she has it turned up really loud. To the point when (and I've been told to quote this);

'Tell them on the forum that you sent Doris for a hearing test'

Which may or may not be true. Anyway, brushing over the minor inconvenience of a hearing test she didn't need; the wife's hearing test showed she has perfect hearing. Whoops

Moving on with the tale;
My wife was moving around the living room yesterday and commented that the volume was actually very loud in the corner where I sit and was at a far more sensible listening level where she was sat on the sofa. I sat where she was and totally agreed with her.

Very slowly, the penny dropped...

Part of the setup of the Playbar for those unfamiliar is called 'Trueplay'. What this involves is that you open the 'Trueplay' settings within the Sonos app on an iPhone (I don't believe it works on Android? @HaRd2BeAr?) and the the phone starts listening with it's microphone. The Playbar emits a series of beeps and other noises and you have to walk around the room, waving the phone up and down like some sort of lunatic. The App then collates all of this information and transmits it to the Playbar, which then tunes all of the speakers to throw sound to where it's needed.

When I did this setup initially, I had walked over by my desk with the phone, so the Playbar was using some of it's speakers on one side to make sure I had a decent level of sound in the corner (which I didn't want). After re-running the 'Trueplay' setting yesterday, but only moving around in the area where we sit, it's tuned much better now and I can hear myself think again when at my desk.

My wife thought that this was hilarious when I worked it out last night and thought that the guys and girls of AVF, with it being an AV Forum might also enjoy my technical faux pas. :)
