I just doubled checked on the Raiders Trilogy and bill hunts reckons that its a fake release not sanctioned by paramount.

But the other two Fox already put out the first Die Hard so the other two cant be far behind. Arrow put out Water World on BD and now Universal are putting out a UHD so i'd bet The Thing cant be far behind since it has a 4K scan already also. Maybe Halloween time.

For me, the main one is Jaws, surprised its not already been done.

I'd love to see The Exorcist get a 4k upgrade.

Jaws
Star Wars (early stuff)
Contact
Pans Lab - Release soon
The Descent
Anything Nolan Released
Anything Cameron
Alien/Aliens
Lawrence of Arabia
Shawshank
Where Eagles Dare
Children of Men
Jurassic Park

2 and a half years now and a few ticked off.

Could add loads more

Sunshine
Never Ending Story
Super 8
Back to the Future
Ing Basterds
Bond (Moore stuff)
Titanic
Cannonball Run :D
Indiana Jones
Select Hitchcock films
The Thing
American Beauty
Dollars Trilogy
Mad Max 2
Die Hard 2
D9

This list could go on and on.
Oh how I would love the Dollars trilogy

The Abyss
Aliens
Indy
Star Wars (original release)
True Lies
Back to the Future (only really like the original )
Die Hard 2
Casino Royale / Skyfall (probably 2 of my favourite 007 films ever)

Determined not to double dip too much with 4k but some films are an absolute must as soon as they appear.

Oh how I would love the Dollars trilogy

Seemingly coming next year.:clap::clap::clap:

Pinched from another forum from a studio insider.

The masters we have are Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) at 4K and UHD resolution. We need to go back and create and color grade new HDR masters for all three films, so we could release them on Dolby Vision. This won't happen anytime soon, we're also looking into reconstructing the theatrical cut of GBU.

This whole project will take much longer and will be very expensive, but we still plan to release them on 4K, most likely early next year.

Oh I hope your right, great news

Any update with Lawrence of Arabia? It’s top of my wish list!

Oh its coming alright. Trouble is...its Kino. And I obviously want it to be great but there is no way I am pre-ordering this until we have had actual hands on reviews.

Please be good! And lets hope someone in the UK picks it up - Arrow? Cmon! Stop farting around with those films that no one has heard of! ;)

It'll be hear sooner or later but not seen anything concrete.

Sony title so 100% it'll look downright amazing.:)

I have no experience of Kino but I read on other forums that they are responsible for Hannibal and that has glowing reviews so here's hoping.

Been a while since i've watched TGTBTU on disc but from memory it might have had DNR issues. Hopefully it'll look like it should (sorry grain haters:D).

Yeah I got Hannibal on the way and it does sound good by all accounts! There have been so many problems with this classic trilogy down the years that we just have to hope for the best and maybe plan for the worst!

I try to avoid 2k DI upscale discs, particularly those with lots of CGI.

Here are my native 4k, large format picks.

THE SEARCHERS (Vistavision)
THE HATEFUL 8 (70mm)
WEST SIDE STORY (70mm)
TRON 1982 (70mm)
FAR AND AWAY (70mm)
LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (70mm)
OKLAHOMA! (Todd-AO)
NORTH BY NORTHWEST (Vistavision)
WHITE CHRISTMAS (Vistavision)

I'd love to see what Dolby Vision does with 35mm black and white horrors like CAT PEOPLE, NIGHT OF THE DEMON & THE HAUNTING. Basically, anything by or influenced by Val Lewton where deep shadows are central.

Classic 3 strip Technicolor should look amazing with WCG and Dolby Vision. SHE WORE A YELLOW RIBBON, GONE WITH THE WIND or SINGIN' IN THE RAIN would be beautiful.

^^^^
Lawrence is scheduled (currently) for Oct/Nov :smashin:

And yup, old school (film not digital) releases rock. Lot of the new 2K DI stuff is ok but rarely has the wow factor.

From the few i've viewed so far.

If I could pick 50 films to release straight away, hardly anything would come from the last few years.

Here's mine...
Die Hard 2
Die Hard WA
Indy trilogy
BTTF trilogy
Hard Target
Aliens
Alien 3
Speed
Lethal Weapon 1-4
Robocop 1987
Edge of Tomorrow
True Romance
Double Impact
Con Air, extended version
The Last Boy Scout
The Last Action Hero.

Yeah so I like 1980s/90s trash, sue me.

I have just sadly traded in all my dvds except the region 1s and a couple of collectors editions . Unfortunately I let my true romance go buy mistake
Does anyone know if this will be on 4k anytime soon or is blu ray my only option . Same for the rest of Tarantino films will they get a 4k release
Thanks guys

Maybe when Once Upon A Time In Hollywood has its home video release !?

Haven’t seen this film in years, but loved it back in the day.
Would love to see this come to UHD, Alabama’s wardrobe would look fantastic.

Can I have that Chesterfield now...

I've also not watched it in yrs but always had a passion for it . I have had all my old dvds in the loft . Cleared it out recently and took them all to cex .before I went I was going through them saying what great films some of them were and had that in the keep pile I thought only to somehow trade it it for pence . Gutted now don't no weather to buy on Blu-ray or wait

I did a similar thing in anticipation of Jaws UHD (nothing has been confirmed).
The digibook are going for a good price on ebay, so I recently sold mine and with its recent cinema run I am assuming / hoping it’s coming to UHD.

True romance is £5 on Cex at the moment, £20 on Amazon :0

Sadly, despite QT's love of films, there seems to be zero interest in releasing his catalogue in 4K. I mean why would you not release a 4K edition from a 70mm shot film???!

If you want to, the French Blu Ray of True Romance had the best treatment AFAIK.

Yes I seen that I could not believe how much it still was on Amazon and eBay

Would also love pulp fiction and kill bill the full bloody affair but I don't think this ever made blu ray . I got mine from yes Asia yrs ago . You don't seem to get different cuts of films like you used to yrs ago with dvd and imports .

I've always had a connection to the sci-fi movie Sunshine. From the visuals, epic soundtrack, gripping story & suspenseful thrills, it ticked many boxes & kept me enthralled from start to end.

I would love to see this one transfered to UHD in Atmos.
