VIDEO: Hisense OLED and LED TV line-up for 2019

OLED for the masses?

by Phil Hinton
We recently popped down to the Hisense UK HQ in Leeds to find out more about their 2019 TV line-up.
Hisense is still a young brand in the UK and has been here for around 8 years now and has steadily built up its product range. This year they introduce their first ever OLED TV which will feature Dolby Vision, HLG and HDR10 High Dynamic Range formats as well as their own smart TV system, Dolby Atmos sound and a 120hz OLED panel. We expect the pricing to be competitive with existing OLED brands, so don't expect any massive price drops or discounts for their premium halo product. The product name will be O8B and so far it will only be available in 55-inch screen size.

Elsewhere in the range are some interesting TVs for AVForums members, with Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10 and Wide Colour Gamut available from the B7500 LED model along with their Vidaa3.0 smart system and motion interpolation. The B7500 is available in 43, 50, 55 and 65-inch screen sizes.

Next up are the U7B and U8B ULED models which are edge lit LED panels with Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10, Wide Colour Gamut, Dolby Atmos and Vidaa3.0 Smart TV on board. While they are edge lit, they also have 16 zones of local dimming to help increase the contrast ratio and performance.

The U7B is available in 50, 55 and 65-inch screen sizes. The U8B adds in 120hz panel and HDR1000 nits performance and is available in 55 and 65-inch screen sizes.

Those looking for big screen sizes will be pleased to note that the existing U9A 65 and 75-inch Premium UHD certified direct-lit ULED TV is carried over into 2019 and you can read our review here.
