by Phil Hinton
MSRP: £1,399.00
The Sony KD-55XG8505 is an entry-level 4K LED LCD TV. It uses the HDR Processor X1, which is designed to reproduce more depth, textures and natural colours with Object-based HDR remaster technology.

The 55XG8505 also features Acoustic Multi-Audio with Sound Positioning Tweeters. This delivers Sony’s Sound-from-Picture Reality experience, where action and sound are precisely aligned and your viewing becomes so much more immersive.

The XG8505 also features a TRILUMINOS Display, further enhanced for colour accuracy, and it supports High Dynamic Range including HDR10 and Dolby Vision. In addition there's also support for Dolby Atmos.

The 55XG85 includes the Android TV platform and has the Google Assistant built-in, so you can quickly access entertainment, get answers, search for content and control devices around your home just by pressing the mic button on the remote.

The XG85 also has an easy to control smart remote, allowing you to connect set top boxes and other devices via HDMI to the TV and control them all using one smart remote. The remote also has a slimmer, more rounded design with a built-in voice control microphone and an enhanced button layout for easier use.

In addition the new processor allows for a quicker response when launching apps, powering on the TV, and more.
